On April 27, 2019, in Thuan Bac district, (Ninh Thuan) Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (Trung Nam Group), held the inauguration of a renewable energy complex of solar and wind power. This is Vietnam's first renewable energy complex to be connected to the grid in 2019, marking a milestone in the development of renewable energy in Ninh Thuan in particular and Vietnam in general.

Trung Nam renewable energy complex built in Ninh Thuan includes wind power farm (total investment of 4,000 billion dong) and solar power (total investment capital of 6,000 billion dong), directly connected to the national electricity system. through the 220KV Thap Cham substation.

The total annual exploitation output of the Trung Nam wind power and solar power complex reaches about 950 million to 1 billion kWh of electricity per year. This is the first and largest renewable energy complex in Vietnam (as of May 2019).

After completing phase 1, Trung Nam wind power plant consists of: 17 pillars, with a capacity of 39.95 MW, with an output of 110 million kWh/year. It is expected that by the fourth quarter of 2019, the second phase of the project will have 16 more towers, with a capacity of 64 MW and an output of 179 million kWh/year. Phase 3, expected to be completed in 2020, will have 12 towers, with a capacity of 48 MW and an output of 134 million kWh/year.

The wind power plant uses wind turbines with "Gearless" technology and automatically adjusts to catch the wind provided by ENERCON, a leading European wind power equipment manufacturer from Germany. With gearless turbine technology, the wind pylons at Trung Nam wind farm can fully operate as soon as the wind speed reaches 2.5 m/s and at the same wind speed the turbines can start. motion. In addition, due to the absence of a gearbox, the system maintenance for the turbine is also less, when there is no friction causing wear and tear. Reduced maintenance work, minimal maintenance costs of the project, cost savings and increased operating time.
